I agree with you. It is not cultural appropriation- it is sharing ideas and cultures you admire. The reason why the woman there didn't care is because in China, cultural appropriation is an idea that doesn't exist nor in most of the world. It mostly exists in the USA and UK. I live in France and people have no idea what it means.
